Jeff Wellington has been named Publisher of Reader’s Digest magazine, it was announced today by Eva Dillon, President of RD Inspiration and Group Publisher of Reader’s Digest. Wellington joins the magazine from The Parenting Group where he was President and Group Publisher, a position he held since December 2005. Wellington starts on October 22 and will be based in the New York office. He will report directly to Dillon.

We are very confident that he will successfully lead the sales effort for Reader’s Digest to greater heights.”
Wellington joined The Parenting Group in 1998 as Associate Publisher and earned increasing responsibilities, rising to Publisher in 2000 and then eventually to President and Group Publisher. Under his leadership, Parenting posted record ad sales growth and was named to the Adweek “Hot List” in 2005. In recent months, he helped spearhead The Parenting Group’s transition to new ownership after Stockholm-based Bonnier Group acquired the group from Time Inc. in March 2007.
Reader’s Digest is the world’s most-read magazine, reaching almost 80 million readers in more than 60 countries. The magazine is published in 50 local-country editions and in 21 languages. It is published by The Reader’s Digest Association, Inc., which has headquarters near Pleasantville, N.Y.
