Jay Advertising, Inc., a McCann Worldgroup Company, has been honored with its second international award — inclusion in the prestigious Communication Arts Design Annual, for a campaign series of four posters promoting Zoobilation ’07, Seneca Park Zoo’s largest fundraiser.
Juried by nine top design professionals and attracting entries from 20 countries, the Communication Arts Design Annual is one of the most exclusive major graphic competitions in the world. Of the 9,286 entries to the 2007 Design Annual, 249 were accepted. All four Zoobilation posters submitted by Jay were accepted and will be in the 2008 Design Annual.
This is Jay’s second international award for the Zoobilation campaign received in the past month, the first being from Graphis, The International Journal of Visual Communication, which is recognized as the premier publication covering graphic communications worldwide. First published in 1944 in Zurich, Switzerland, it is now headquartered in New York City.
The campaign, created by Tim Winter, Senior Art Director and Greg Shainman, Copywriter with photography by John Myers Studios, was a pro-bono effort that helped raise $100,000, the highest tally in the zoo event’s fifteen-year fund-raising history.
The campaign was led by Gregory Smith, President, Jay Advertising who has worked tirelessly on the Zoo project for many years and committed many hours of community service.
