VisionChina Media Inc. (“VisionChina” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: VISN), one of China’s largest out-of-home digital television advertising networks on mass transportation systems, has announced the appointment of Helen Plummer as investor relations officer, effective immediately. Mrs. Plummer will oversee daily investor relations and communications functions and report directly to chief financial officer, Dina Liu.
“Helen is a valuable addition to our senior management team and her years of experience in U.S. financial markets and deep understanding of China-based investor relations will allow her to make immediate contributions to our company,” said Mr. Limin Li, VisionChina’s chief executive officer. “She brings additional financial communications best practices that strengthen our commitment to maintaining open and transparent communications with the investment community. Her extensive China background and impressive credentials are a reflection of our ability to attract exceptional talent as we build out a strong corporate structure.”
Dina Liu, VisionChina’s chief financial officer, added: “Having worked with Helen as our external investor relations consultant since July 2007, I am confident that we have found the right leader for VisionChina Media’s investor relations team and I am delighted to have her join us. Helen will leverage her already deep understanding of our company to drive our investor relations strategy and planning as well as manage the daily functions of the team.”
Plummer joins VisionChina Media from Ogilvy Financial, Beijing, where she was associate director of the Investor Relations department. At Ogilvy, Mrs. Plummer managed a team of investor relations professionals while providing strategic counsel surrounding initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial communications programs for several large, mid, and small cap U.S.-listed Chinese companies. Prior to Ogilvy, Mrs. Plummer was a trust officer with PGB Trusts & Investments, in Peapack, NJ. At PGB, she was responsible for the trust administration and portfolio management needs of a large group of high net worth clients with assets totaling over US$100 million. Mrs. Plummer holds a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Studies and Chinese Language from Middlebury College in Vermont, USA and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago, USA. She speaks fluent Mandarin and has lived in Beijing for eight of the past 12 years. Plummer will be based in VisionChina Media’s Beijing office.
