Closely following News Corporation assuming full ownership of Jamba with its purchase of the 49 percent stake previously held by VeriSign, Jamba has announced a reorganization of its business to leverage its strengths and accelerate and extend its global leadership in the mobile content industry.
The new structure aims to bring further clarity to Fox’s strategic approach to the mobile content industry by underscoring its global leadership in the areas of distributing, licensing, and producing mobile content while further leveraging the dynamic strengths of the Fox brand and assets.
Jamba, Fox Mobile Group’s (FMG) consumer mobile content distribution brand in markets throughout Europe, and Jamster, FMG’s consumer mobile content distribution brand in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Russia and the Asia-Pacific region, will be part of the new Fox Mobile Distribution unit.
“This new organizational model aligns our business strengths to the global market opportunities in mobile content distribution, licensing, and production and facilitates the execution of our business strategy to lead in all three areas,” said Mauro Montanaro, chief executive officer, Fox Mobile Group. “We believe these changes will support accelerated growth and extend our global leadership in mobile content licensing, distribution, and production,” he said.
In addition to the reorganization, the company also announced that it has expanded its global reach in Asia and opened an office in Singapore. The Singapore office serves as home base for Fox Mobile Distribution and Fox Mobile Studios initiatives across rapidly-growing Asian markets.
Fox Mobile Group will be led by Mauro Montanaro, who was named chief executive officer of Jamba earlier this year. Over the past few months, Montanaro has installed a number of new executives who will help run FMG and its newly-established units, including Kaj Hagros, who joined the company as chief operating officer in July 2008. Hagros, based in Berlin, is responsible for developing and executing product, technology and content strategies for Fox Mobile Distribution’s consumer brands.
Other recently-appointed executives include Giovanni Montesanti, who will join the company as chief marketing officer in November; Dana Harris, vice president, global communications and John Ma, vice president, human resources. Mark Anderson and Jamie Samson will continue serving as chief financial officer and executive vice president of business & legal affairs and general counsel, respectively.
“The combined strength of our existing regional and operations teams and our new executive team will set the stage for further growth,” said Montanaro. “Our company is rife with talented and experienced people, which will prove extremely beneficial as we broaden our portfolio and expand into new regions.”
Fox Mobile Group (FMG) is the global leader in mobile content distribution, licensing, and production.
