Bunchball, creator of the consumer engagement and interaction platform “Nitro,” announced today the appointment of Peter Daboll to Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Daboll joins Bunchball from Yahoo!, where he served as Chief of Insights.
“I am thrilled to be joining a company that truly answers the needs of brands and publishers to create and develop meaningful connections with their consumers,” Mr. Daboll said. “Bunchball’s products enable brands across all vertical markets to build engagement with consumers by measuring and influencing their most important behaviors.”
Mr. Daboll has become a well-known expert in online consumer behavior through his work at Yahoo! and with some of the most well-respected market research companies in the world, including comScore Media Metrix, where he served as president and CEO; MarketTools, where he served as president and COO; MediaPlan, where he served as COO; and Information Resources, Inc., where he held a number of senior roles. He has been involved in many industry associations including ARF, MRC, AAAAs, IAB, IIR, among others, and has been keynote speaker for the AMA and a guest on CNBC and CNN.
“I welcome Peter to the Bunchball team and look forward to the deep insights about consumer behavior and online marketing that he’ll bring to our current customers like NBC, Hearst and Comcast, as well as our future customers,” said Rajat Paharia, founder of Bunchball.
“We are thrilled to have Peter onboard,” said Chris Hollenbeck of Granite Ventures, an investor in Bunchball. “He is one of the foremost experts in online marketing and consumer behavior and by matching him with Rajat, a leader in the online application of game mechanics and behavioral economics, we’ve created an incredibly powerful team. Peter now has a platform to build on his successes at Yahoo!, comScore, MarketTools, MediaPlan and IRI and create the next generation leader in online marketing and customer engagement.”
“Core to Adobe’s investment strategy is supporting companies who are leading the revolution toward richer, more engaging digital experiences,” said John Leckrone, Director of Venture Development at Adobe Systems Incorporated. “Bunchball’s Nitro Platform is an excellent complement for this mission, and we’re looking forward to the prospect of helping our customers and developers better leverage Nitro and Adobe’s Flash Platform Technologies.”
“Nitro gives marketers tools that provide unprecedented access to consumers and drive their participation wherever they are — whether in social networks and communities, web sites or mobile devices,” Mr. Daboll stated. “Nitro can understand and act on consumers’ behavior in a very cost-effective way, which is critical in a time when marketing budgets are hemorrhaging. In addition, Nitro can significantly drive revenues for publishers by adding new users, increasing time on site, and motivating other revenue-generating consumer behavior.”
