Cannes: FashionOne HD has entered the Korean market with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with kt (formerly Korea Telecom) at MIPTV in Cannes today. This deal was facilitated by GlobeCast, FashionOne’s distributor in Asia.
The deal marks FashionOne HD’s foray into the Korean market. The channel is expected to launch onto kt’s IPTV platform in mid-2011.
FashionOne HD will be distributed via kt’s innovative N-Screen Service, offered on IPTV, online, tablet PC, mobile and other devices on both wired and wireless platforms.
kt’s subscribers will enjoy the latest news and trends in fashion and entertainment through FashionOne HD’s unique mix of programs that includes coverage from all international fashion weeks, top designer, model and photographer profiles, exclusive fashion events and parties, luxurious destinations, a daily dose of entertainment news, and much more.
Olleh is kt’s brand identity which also incorporates OTV (Olleh TV – kt’s live channel, VOD and interactive service).
In addition to FashionOne HD, kt will also sign a MOU for the Bigfoot TV 3D, the sister entertainment channel of FashionOne HD during MIPTV.
GlobeCast has secured numerous carriage deals for FashionOne HD – launching the channel into various SEA markets such as Hong Kong, Mongolia, Vietnam, Philippines and Malaysia.
The channel is also available in HD in a number of territories. FashionOne HD broadcasts 24/7 internationally across multiple platforms, including direct-to-home satellite television, cable television and the web.
