Mumbai: Full service digital agency Experience Commerce won the GOLD award for Best Use of Social Media at the Indian Digital Media Awards (IDMA) 2010. EC was officially recognized for it’s award winning work for Mitsubishi Cedia. The winning campaign was titled the Great Driving Challenge and was put together as a campaign engaging travel fanatics around the new Mitsubishi Cedia. By making it a couples only entry we ensured that family and friends were left behind cheering.
With numbers like 6.5 lakhs unique visitors/month, Page views that touched 6,900,000/month it was obvious to us that TGDC is India’s Best Digital campaign – and it’s good to get official verification. With 10,000+ couples signing up, asking for votes – the Total Votes Cast: 3,20,000 & the maximum page views in a day reached 7,50,000 leading to the server crash.
TGDC ran on its own fuel, with online advertising driving less that 5% of traffic, tapped strong communities of car lovers such as Team-BHP.com which was what gave the campaign its initial momentum. We experienced such a great number of people applying that we had our servers crash.
About the win, Sandip Maiti, CEO, Experience Commerce says, “Experience Commerce might be a small agency that no one has heard about, but we are the best at digital advertising. We’re all proud that it was this campaign that got us the GOLD, since it was a collaborative effort amongst our teams.” He urges all to keep an eye out for future work, as this award marks the beginning of many more to come.
