Endemol to produce 3rd season of Rush for Network Ten

Endemol, a world leader in entertainment programming has announced that Network Ten Australia has commissioned a third season of Southern Star’s hit action drama series Rush.

Produced by Endemol’s Southern Star John Edwards for Network Ten Australia with the assistance of Film Victoria, Rush is an action drama series set in a critical incident response unit. The unit’s members are trained to be smarter, tactically superior and technologically advantaged. Rush is an insider’s view of police under pressure- defusing crises, saving lives and preventing crime, rather than catching the bad guys after the deed is done.

Rush has been incredibly successful globally having sold to France (AB Droits), Canada (Superchannel), Spain (Nova & AXN), Central and Eastern Europe (AXN), Africa (M- Net), Russia CIS and Baltics (Fox International Channels), Asia (Fox International Channels), Middle East (MBC), Poland (TV4), Ireland (RTE), Italy (Smar Programs), Australia (Hallmark), New Zealand (TVNZ), Norway (TV2), Belgium (VTM) and Finland (YLE).

Cathy Payne, Chief Executive Officer of Endemol Worldwide Distribution says; “Rush is already a proven success around the world and we’re extremely proud to be offering the series to buyers in the global market. This new commission is a fantastic vote of confidence from one of Australia’s major terrestrial networks.”

Endemol acquired 100% of Southern Star earlier this year, creating one of the world’s largest independent content distributors. The global distribution operation Endemol Worldwide Distribution incorporates 20, 000 hours of content and launched at MIPCOM 2009.
