Leading ‘Below the Line’ and experiential marketing agency Encompass, makes a clean sweep with 11 awards at EEMAGINE Convention 2009, the three-day annual convention organized by the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) in Agra. For the first time in 10 years, EEMA hosted an award property, the EEMAX Awards, for its 120 members as part of the convention. The awards had 700 entries across 20 categories.
Roshan Abbas, Managing Director Encompass said, “For 10 years the industry has waited for an award or some yardstick to measure itself. For Encompass to be the number one agency in the very first year of the awards is gratifying!! It’s a pity there was no agency of the year award! For it was ours all the way!” Though no Agency of the year was awarded as is the norm in such advertising / marketing awards shows, Encompass was well positioned to lead the race with its large number of wins.
Encompass topped with two golds, five silvers and four bronze for wins across categories ranging from the best consumer activation, best roadshow, best automobile launch, best ROI, best mall promotion, best integrated campaign, best alcohol contact program, best exhibition and best CSR initiative to name a few. Encompass bagged 11 awards in total – the highest number of awards to be won by any one agency at the convention.
An elated Sukrit Singh, CEO Encompass commented, “It is interesting to have 22 shortlists of the 30 nominations we entered. Each of these entries has already worked for our clients, bringing their brands to life as experiences in the real world. The jury for the EEMAX Awards this year featured stalwarts Prasoon Joshi, Santosh Desai, Hemant Bakshi, Shripad Nadkarni, Hemant Sachdev, Mahesh Madhavan and Sunil Lulla. In all, 63 awards were given away at the EEMAX 2009. 23 of the 44 agencies that entered the awards took home EEMAX awards.
