Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, a division of the number-one nonfiction media company Discovery Communications, and SKYCABLE has announced the launch of Discovery HD, the company’s international high definition network, in the Philippines. Discovery HD is available on Channel 164 and will launch as part of SKYCABLE’s High Definition TV (HDtv) offering. The SKYCABLE HD service is initially available in Metro Manila only.

These include BEHIND THE CAMERA, a five-part series that follows three different photographers in each episode, giving viewers an insight into the ideals and approaches to various photographic niches; THE DRIFTERS which explores the cutting-edge sport of drifting and reveals the test days, the crashes and the whole lifestyle surrounding this rapidly growing phenomenon; and CRUISING ANTARCTICA, which takes the audience on board a luxury icebreaker bringing passengers through one of the most inhospitable environments on Earth.
Discovery now operates HD services in six markets in the region including Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and South Korea.
