Discovery bags four PromaxBDA India 2014 awards

Animal-Planet,-Yeh-Mera-IndDiscovery Networks Asia-Pacific (South Asia) won four awards at the PromaxBDA India 2014 held in Mumbai yesterday, in Best Innovative Marketing Idea and Best Documentary Promo categories.

The company received Gold for Best Innovative Marketing Idea for Animal Planet – connecting with millennial: Yeh Mera India.  Commemorating India’s 67th year of Independence, Animal Planet had launched a thematic campaign ‘Yeh Mera India’ dedicated to India’s beautiful and diverse wildlife. The network received Silver for Best Innovative Marketing Idea for Discovery Kids’ Science Festival.  The channel had created a ‘World of Bubbles’ at the science festival to engage with kids and give them a learning-based entertainment experience, demonstrating its brand promise of ‘Smart Fun’.

Discovery Channel’s Earth Flight, that combines state-of-the-art technology and sophisticated techniques to show the world from an amazing aerial perspective, earned Gold in Best Documentary Promo. TLC’s Flavours , which explores cultural variety, traditions, finest cuisines and distinct food palettes of the world, won Silver for Best Documentary Promo.

Commenting on the awards, Rahul Johri, Executive Vice President and General Manager – South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific and Head of Revenue, Pan-Regional Ad Sales and Southeast Asia, “This recognition reflects Discovery’s ingenious and differentiated approach to connect and entertain the discerning Indian viewer.”
