Dainik Bhaskar bags 'Business Superbrand' honour

Dainik Bhaskar, India’s largest read Hindi newspaper has been honoured with the ‘Business SuperBrand’ title in the 3rd edition of Superbrands India. The title of a Business-Super brand was conferred to Dainik Bhaskar in at an august gathering of corporate leaders held in the Delhi.

Dharmendra Atri, Business Head-North Region of Dainik Bhaskar, received the prestigious trophy from Montek Singh Alhuwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission, Government of India. On the event night, Superbrands also unveiled the 2011 Business Superbrands book featuring the story of 50 of India’s strongest brands.

Receiving the trophy Mr. Atri said ‘Getting recognised by an independent authority is always encouraging as it a reflection of our brand image and perceptions. Today ‘Business Superbrands’ in India is a definitive statement for brand success. It is moment of pride for me to receive the same on behalf of the group. It reiterates the need for constant self analysis and raising the bar. It motivates us to further add value by performing beyond the expectation of our business associates.’

Nine years since Superbrand was instituted in India, it has earned the proud distinction of being the one award that brands consistently use as a symbol of exceptional achievement and credibility.

In the selection process hundreds of leading Indian brands were evaluated first by a very knowledgeable group of brand-savvy consumers and then by the Superbrands Council comprising of some of India’s most respected corporate leaders who then decided on brands to be honoured as Business Superbrands 2011

This year’s Superbrands Council comprised of Gautam S. Adani, Executive Chairman & Founder, the Adani Group, Mahendra Mohan Gupta, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Chairman & Managing Editor, Jagran Prakashan, Prithvi Haldea, Chairman & Managing Director, PRIME Database, Anil Khanna, Managing Director, Blue Dart Express, S Ravichandran, Managing Director, TTK Prestige, Preetha Reddy, Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals,R S Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, NTPC, Raghupati Singhania, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, JK Tyre & Industries and Tulsi R Tanti, Chairman & Managing Director, Suzlon Energy.

The other leading Indian brands that were honoured with this title were Infosys, Birla white, Zee network, Tata Steel, HSBC, Bharat Petrolum, UTI Mutual funds, Jagran, Godrej consumer products, Philips, Ultratech.
