Mumbai : India’s longest running marketing show – CNBC-TV18’s Storyboard celebrates ten years this month. Hosted by Anuradha SenGupta, Storyboard has been the pioneer in reporting on the branding, media & advertising business. The show has tracked marketing trends at close quarters over the last decade – be it the rise of telecom players, the explosion of digital marketing or the willingness to invest in sports.
The award winning show has always been ahead of the curve and was talking about brand building, effectiveness in advertising and impact on sales much before it became fashionable to do so. The other area where Storyboard has focused on is taking the conversation about brands to consumers via Vox Pops and by social media.
Seeking to make this conversation on brands more accessible to the nation’s consuming class Storyboard evolved into ‘Storyboard ab Hindi mein’ on CNBC Awaaz last year. The other extensions of the Storyboard brand include ‘Storyboard on the Road’ – on-ground events with the marketing and advertising community, ‘Storyboard Guest Editor’ – where the world’s leading marketing professionals are invited to edit the show and ‘Storyboard Talks to’ – a series of probing and insightful interviews.
As part of the 10 year celebrations will be a 4 part special that takes a look back at the noughties – a decade where companies and businesses scrambled to cope with new realities – competition, choice, a bewildering new array of media and above all the expectations of the Indian consumer. Join Anuradha SenGupta as she talks stalwarts of the Indian industry as they share their personal experiences of the decade gone by. These specials will feature KV Kamath, Kishore Biyani, Nitin Paranjpe, Balki, D Shivakumar, Piyush Pandey, Rajiv Bajaj, Sam Balsara, Vinita Bali, Anand Kripalu, Sanjay Kapoor and more.
Speaking on the Storyboard ten year anniversary, Anuradha SenGupta said “I think Storyboard looks at the big picture as to where advertising, marketing and brands fit into business and what they are meant to do for society. I think that’s what distinguishes Storyboard the most from other shows that operate in the same space. 10 years of watching India’s greatest brand builders at work, means we have picked up a few lessons for free! As Storyboard turns 10, a big thank you to everybody for teaching us how to build a great brand.”
