New Delhi : Penguin-India has appointed publishing veteran Chiki Sarkar as the publisher of the company. She takes over from Ravi Singh who left the firm last week.
Sarkar was earlier the editor of Random House India. An Oxford University graduate, she has worked for Bloomsbury Publishing in London for seven years, a statement by Penguin-India said.
CEO and president of Penguin India Andrew Phillip said the publishing house was thrilled with Sarkar’s appointment on the eve of the company’s 25th year.
“She is incredibly bright, creative and driven,” Phillip said.
