Lollipop and Hey Girl fans can now watch their favourite shows on the go as Channel V’s flagship programmes featuring these two popular idol groups are available via Video On Demand (VOD) and mobile TV streaming services provided by all leading HK mobile operators including PCCW Mobile, CSL (1010, one2free and New World Mobility), SmarTone-Vodafone and 3.

Created by ChannelL V Taiwan through its talent search/variety shows, Lollipop and Hey Girl are arguably two of the most popular idol groups in Mando-pop history, attracting young fans across the Greater China region and beyond. Both groups, as well as their juniors, Choc 7 and the new Mei Mei, are featured on their respective shows, Lollipop and Blackie’s Teenage Club, on CHANNEL V five days a week. The shows are now on offer to PCCW Mobile, CSL, SmarTone-Vodafone and 3 subscribers in Hong Kong for HK$3 a clip and/or for HK$18-20 a month with unlimited views.

Amy Yeh, Senior Vice President, New Media, STAR, said, “Mobile entertainment is an integral part of the youth lifestyle here in Hong Kong, and we are thus excited to work with all the major operators in the market to launch this highly popular content. The deals allow loyal young V fans to connect with their idols on the go while also giving us the opportunity to reach new potential eyeballs beyond our traditional base.”

Cross promotions of the shows on mobile have been focused on SMS push, in-store leaflets, eDMs, online banners and print ads.
