Cellfire Inc., the only nationwide mobile coupon and discount offer service, was honored by the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) with the MMA 2008 Innovation Award for demonstrating and applying new technology which significantly contributed to the growth of the industry with its mobile grocery coupon program. Representing more than 700 member companies worldwide, the MMA presented Cellfire with the award based on its solution, execution, creativity and impact on the industry.
“Winning the Innovation Award from the MMA validates the remarkable work we have achieved with our client partners,” said Brent Dusing, CEO of Cellfire. “Consumers have long desired a more convenient means by which to save on groceries and the Cellfire mobile grocery coupon service allows them to save on their favorite brands at leading grocers nationwide by linking their mobile phone with their grocery savings card.”
The Cellfire mobile grocery coupon service signals the first time consumers can achieve savings on individual grocery items using their mobile phone. It also marks the first time a mobile application has been linked to a retailer’s point of sale system in a closed-loop to enable end-to-end digital coupon processing. Through secure back-end integration with the grocer, consumers can save coupons on their phone directly to their savings card and have the discounts applied when they present their savings card at checkout-all without having to the deal with the hassle of paper coupons.
Another level of flexibility and convenience are provided through the seamless integration between the Cellfire mobile application and its Web site, enabling consumers to manage their coupons either from their cell phones or computer. Actions made from the mobile phone or computer are simultaneously reflected across the computer and phone allowing consumers to manage coupons in the comfort of their home, on the go or while at the store.
The MMA received submissions from companies worldwide across 12 categories and drew a record 300+ nominations. Finalists were selected by the MMA Awards Selection Committee comprised of global industry leaders from wireless carriers, technology and content providers, agencies and industry publications.
“We are inspired by the creativity, innovation and results of the winning entries,” said Laura Marriott, president of the MMA. “We are seeing an increasing number of brands realize the value of mobile marketing and the Cellfire mobile grocery coupon service is an example of how brands are delivering value and engaging consumers through mobile marketing.”
