The activity revolves around themes like Smart Shopping, Smart Saving, Smart Parenting, Smart Grooming and of course – Smart Driving.
Sunil Kumaran, Cluster Head, Karnataka & Kerala, BIG 92.7 FM, said, “The response for this contest has been phenomenal with excellent participation. It was a mammoth task to shortlist the candidates, given the rich talent that we had to choose from. Through this unique tie-up between BIG FM and Maruti Suzuki, we are offering a true life impacting opportunity to our listeners who get an excellent programming mix on air and to that one lucky talented finalist… who actually gets to drive home a brand new WagonR.”
The first Zonal final was held in Bangalore on 28th September where a total of 8 finalists from each of the four southern states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala were selected and flown to the city. These finalists had to showcase their talent and smartness against each other over 3 different rounds in front of a packed audience. The rounds included a Duo Challenge, Puzzle Game, a Wild Card entry and a celebrity round of rapid fire questions. Noted celebrity Ms Shruti Seth (Channel V VJ, Model & TV Host) from Mumbai came down to judge this Zonal finals and gave away a brand new WagonR Duo to the smartest contestant.
The 8 finalists were Ganesh & Mohammed Ali from Bangalore, Shaheer & Prakash from Trivandrum, Revathi & Mangai Raju from Chennai & Sindhu & Anubhav from Hyderabad.
Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager (Marketing) Maruti Suzuki, commented “Wagon R Duo that was launched two years ago, has been very well received by consumers owing to its better fuel efficiency and the option of switching between LPG and petrol. The brand truly identifies with it’s proposition of ‘for the smarter generation’ and that’s what we wanted to promote through this activity. We realize that radio has emerged from a supportive medium to a preferred medium to reach out to the masses. Hence, with the support of BIG FM, we aim to indulge in communications by winning attention and involvement of prospective buyers, bring the spirit of the brand to life in a distinctive way, genuinely motivate consumers, and ultimately lead them to buy. “
