BBDO Worldwide was named the “Most Awarded Agency Network in the World” according to The Gunn Report , which combines the winners’ lists from the most important award shows in the world. This marks the third year in a row that BBDO has been ranked #1 and the sixth time in the ten-year history of this report, three times more than any other agency network. It did so with the widest margin of victory in the history of The Gunn Report. For 2008, results from the top 39 shows for TV and Cinema, the top 20 for Print, the top 20 for Interactive and the top 16 for Mixed/Integrated media were included in the report.
BBDO agencies from 23 different markets and across every geographic region contributed to this year’s success. Within this, BBDO New York was the single most awarded agency, producing award-winning work for as many as 15 different clients and brands. For example, its HBO “Voyeur” campaign was the third most awarded campaign in the world in the Interactive and Mixed/Integrated Media categories, while a print campaign created for the BBC was ranked sixth. The Gunn Report commented, “The huge range of different clients for whom the agency is creating superior advertising is certainly unprecedented.”
In all, five BBDO agencies finished among the top 50 in the world: BBDO New York (#1), Almap BBDO, Brazil (#11), AMV BBDO, London (#14), BBDO Toronto (#37) and Contrapunto, Spain (#43). Almap BBDO and BBDO New York also finished among the top 15 agencies in the world for Interactive (#9 and 13, respectively), with Almap BBDO having the distinction of being one of only two agencies in the world to achieve this two years in a row.
