Detroit-based strategic communication management firm Bassett & Bassett, Incorporated is moving forward with its plans to serve international clients and is expanding its representation into India. Vidya Moorthy, currently vice-president of client services, will help set up the firm’s India representation in March 2009.

The firm’s India representation will be based out of the city of Pune, located 100 miles southeast of Mumbai in western India. The city is home to several rapidly growing information technology companies and automotive manufacturing plants, as well as a vibrant student community with Pune being India’s premiere college and university town.
Vidya Moorthy has worked as a management and communication consultant for nearly 15 years and has been with Bassett & Bassett since 2002. Born and raised in India, her unique skill sets in both business and communication combines with her global perspective to provide clients with effective solutions. Moorthy has worked for companies in India, Europe and the United States. She has a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Osmania University in India, as well as a master’s degree in public relations from Michigan State University.
