Baichung Bhutia to present special episode of CNN IBN's Real Heroes show

Real Heroes, an initiative of Network18, is back in its fifth edition to recognize and award ordinary citizens dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives. This weekend’s special episode features celebrated footballer Baichung Bhutia, who will bring to you six unsung heroes from India’s east zone.

The show will feature: Bertha G Dkhar, who lost her eyesight in college, but now gives hope to more than 100 blind students by inventing the braille code in Khasi, the local language of Meghalaya.

Pabitra Rabha, who runs the world’s only all-dwarves theatre group in Assam called Dapon, which has found respect, dignity and even love through theatre and films.

R K Biswajit, a physical trainer from Manipur who has been able to reform over 50 addicts through a combination of workouts, meditation and campaigning.

Keepu Lepcha, who has made it her life’s mission to uplift and save her community from extinction and provide education to orphaned and semi-orphaned Lepcha children.

Baghambar Patnaik, a retired schoolteacher from Odisha who helped abolish the evil practice of ‘bartan’, which forced barber families of the state to wash the feet of the upper caste guests.

and Jaya Devi, the ‘Green Lady’ of Munger , who brought Green Revolution in her district through tree plantation and water harvesting.
