AsiaWorld-Expo Kicks Off in Hong Kong

The co-located China Sourcing Fairs: Fashion Accessories and Underwear & Swimwear opened on Thursday and will run until Nov. 2 at AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. Organized by Global Sources (Nasdaq: GSOL) , the combined Fairs feature over 960 booths. The majority of exhibitors are from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, but the show will also feature booths from Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Italy, the Netherlands, Israel and Australia. China Sourcing Fair: Fashion Accessories will feature a pavilion dedicated to suppliers from India.

Buyers can find underwear; swimwear; sleepwear; fabrics, lace and trimmings; and beachwear and accessories at China Sourcing Fair: Underwear & Swimwear. This show is being sponsored by Hyosung, the second-largest producer of spandex in the world. Hyosung will be exhibiting their creora(R) brand at the show and participating in the onsite fashion parades. Ria Stern, Director of Global Marketing and Brand for creora(R) spandex will also be presenting a seminar on ‘Intimate Apparel and Swimwear Trends in Fiber and Fabrics’ on Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m.

The Fairs regularly attract over 13,000 buyers from over 100 countries and regions. International volume buyers including Auchan, Decathlon, Dollar General and Otto International are scheduled to attend the shows’ onsite Private Buyer Meetings, where pre-selected exhibitors meet face-to-face with some of the world’s top buyers.

Next year, the show will take place four times in three key locations for suppliers — Hong Kong, Dubai and Shanghai. Next year’s shows will feature a new pavilion dedicated to knitted boleros, shawls and wraps and hats and gloves.
