INX News Private Limited has announced the appointment of Arup Ghosh as its Newsroom Head. With more than 25 years of experience in print and TV journalism, Ghosh has held senior positions at television news companies, including NDTV, Sahara Samay and Channel 7. Prior to that, he spent 13 years working for the top newspapers of the country including The Times of India, Hindustan Times and The Statesman.

Arup’s television career started in 1995 with NDTV, where he worked on shows such as News Tonight (for DD), Index (for Zee) and subsequently anchored the news bulletins on the premier breakfast Good Morning India on Star Plus.
As part of the senior core team that launched Star News in India, Ghosh worked for the channel as an anchor and special correspondent (politics) for over six years. He anchored and produced special shows on Star News including Newshour, Sawaal Apke, and primetime news bulletins. For NDTV and Star News he covered three general elections and anchored special shows during the phase, and has reported on some of the biggest stories and issues, including Kashmir-related and other security issues in the country. He also specialized in Parliament reportage and reported on developments in major political parties.
As Channel Head of Sahara Samay Rashtriya, Ghosh launched the national channel and provided the blueprint and support base for the launch of four other regional news channels by the Sahara group. During the three years at Sahara, he not only planned the entire news and non-news content for the channel and managed a 500 member team but also played a major role in the presentation and planning of the 2004 General Elections of India.
After Sahara, Ghosh moved to Channel 7 as Director News (Channel Head), to launch the 24-hour news channel for the Dainik Jagran group. This channel was launched in four months; one of the fastest launches ever in India, with programming that spanned crime, sports and entertainment shows. Ghosh has also been associated with Zee News as a presenter for a current affairs show besides the 2001 assembly elections.
Prior to joining INX News, Ghosh was engaged in running a consultancy firm called Network 1 Media Consultancy, which launched an Asian community channel in the US called STV.
