Animal Planet announces new series of Masters of Jungle

New Delhi: One of the highest viewed time-bands on Animal Planet, Master of the Jungle will premiere a range of new series including RIVER MONSTERS, STEVE’S DEADLY 60, JAGUAR ADVENTURE, and CORWIN’S QUEST. This unique time-band presents the most celebrated wildlife experts from around the world who have dedicated their lives to animals every night at 9 PM on Animal Planet.

In Masters of the Jungle, distinguished hosts travel around the world to investigate animal issues, explore wild habitats and understand animal behaviours in this action-packed hour. From catching pythons, coming face to face with tigers and encountering sharks, these brave hearts risk their lives for conserving and protecting their beloved animals. From Steve Irwin, Nigel Marven to Jeremy Wade and Saba Douglas-Hamilton; their styles may differ but they all endeavour to share captivating stories from around the world, including India.

Extending its time-band strategy and prime time offering, Animal Planet announced a new time band Line of Control (LOC) which will air every night at 11 pm. The time-band offers unseen human-animal interactions which could be predatory or paranormal. Some of the series to air during LOC at 11 pm are: MONSTERS INSIDE ME, THE HAUNTED, and I’M ALIVE.

RIVER MONSTERS :From a tiny piranha that can tear apart humans in the Amazon to large killer catfish in India that feed on dead bodies, Animal Planet’s premiere series RIVER MONSTERS tracks the world’s most ferocious fish. Biologist and extreme angler Jeremy Wade has made his life’s passion into a career searching for a variety of aquatic vertebrae while navigating the globe’s waterways. In RIVER MONSTERS, Jeremy comes face-to-face with fear as he tries to understand these mysterious predators with a taste for human flesh, putting his life on the line to find truly monster-sized fish such as piranha, Alligator Gar, Wels Catfish, Bullshark, Candiru and Arapaima.

STEVE’S DEADLY 60 :Introducing Steve Backshall, Animal Planet travels across six continents to find his “hit list” of the 60 most lethal animals on the earth. In STEVE’S DEADLY 60, Steve proves that when it comes to the battle for survival, size is of no importance. From the infamous to the unexpected, this global adventurer, Steve Backshall searches oceans, savannahs, deserts, mountains, islands and jungles to seek out 60 of the most fascinating – and deadly – creatures in the world. From tiger sharks to giant centipedes, funnel web spiders to the golden poison frog; Steve’s adventure is a race against time to find the most DEADLY 60 creatures.

JAGUAR ADVENTURE :Nigel Marven is on the hunt for the world’s largest jaguars in South America. Travelling deep into the heart of the Pantanal, a wetland, Nigel comes face to face with these magnificent cats and chases down scientists who are rushing to save them on Brazil’s burgeoning cattle ranches. On his four weeks mission to the world’s biggest wetland, Nigel’s aim is to find his jaguars and as many of the amazing weird swamp creatures that he can.

WILD EVENTS :Presented by wildlife expert Jake Willers, this series features the most intriguing of wildlife events and spectacular practices such as the migration of the wildebeests, the Christmas Island Crabs and the Sardine Run.

Time Band Strategy :Every day, from 7 pm to 12 midnight, the channel presents distinct hourly themes for wholesome family entertainment. The themes and programmes for each hour have been created basis nationwide viewers’ research. The unique time-bands help communicate the diversity of channel’s content to viewers, both existing and potential. The five one-hour long time-bands are:

AP Safari at 7 pm : A celebration of nature, viewers get to see some of the classic wildlife programmes detailing the entire lifecycle of plant and animal lives. From the great Savannah to the picturesque landscapes of the Himalayas, these programmes would leave viewers awe-struck. Some of the programmes to air under the band are: SECRETS OF THE SERPENTS, FASCINATING WORLD OF ANIMALS, and KINGDOM OF THE ELEPHANTS.

The Hunt at 8pm :This one-hour time band brings along nature’s predators in their raw and merciless form every night. Viewers get to meet top filmmakers encounter the unexpected and unearth some of the astonishing wildlife stories through series like MAN EATERS, BIG CAT DIARY, BIG BITES, and ANIMAL BATTLEGROUNDS. Capturing breathtaking wild hunts, brutal battles and most intense moments of the animal behaviour, The Hunt allows viewers to have a heart-pounding experience.

Masters of the Jungle, 9 pm : Meet the most celebrated wildlife experts from around the world who have dedicated their lives to animals on Masters of the Jungle every night at 9 PM on Animal Planet. These distinguished hosts travel around the world to investigate animal issues, explore wild habitats and understand animal behaviours. Planet Hour at 10 PM :Be awed by Mother Nature captured on camera in Animal Planet’s every night at 10 pm on Planet Hour. Taking viewers on a breathtaking journey to the world’s most diverse landscapes, Planet Hour includes series like WILDEST AFRICA, SOUTH PACIFIC, and NATURAL WORLD.

Line of Control (LOC) at 11 PM :Consisting of some of the most dangerous and up close encounters, this line-up is for the adrenaline junkies. Viewers will witness the meeting point of the predator and its prey, shot around the world. Line of Control (LOC) promises the viewers the edgy wild. Some of the series to air during LOC at 11 pm are: MONSTERS INSIDE ME, THE HAUNTED, and I’M ALIVE.
