Amar Ujala group, publishers of popular Hindi Daily Amar Ujala has announced the relaunch of its Hindi business daily. The yet to be named business daily , according to Sunil Mutreja, President, Marketing will be launched by the end of 2008.
‘We will relaunch our business daily in Hindi with a new name and style. It will be a breed apart from others and will be lanunched by the end of this year’ Sunil Mutreja told Media Newsline.
Amar Ujala had launched a business daily called ‘Karobar’ in 1994 .Within a short span of time the daily had carved a niche for itself among the Hindi speaking business readers , the commodity traders in particular. Due to some reasons ‘Karobar’ was discontinued in 1999 .
‘We were ahead of times and did not get the desired response from the readers’ reasoned Mutreja .
The growth of Indian economy and income levels, of north Indians in particular has swelled the number of investors. Hindi speaking people are keen to invest in the market but the lack of knowledge and guidance is a big hinderance . Indian publishers are now eyeing the Hindi readers and are keen to sell them the business information in Hindi.
‘The Hindi speaking people , Over the years have become rich and want to invest .So far the disemmenation of knowledge of business and investment is confined to English language only. We’ve already touched the pulse of Hindi readers and are now keen to offer them the business knowledge in their mother tongue’Sunil Mutreja said.
Amar Ujala’s business daily will have to compete with Business Standard and Economic Times, the market leaders .The competition is likely to become more fierce with the joint venture business daily being launched by Dainik Jagran and TV-18 group. But Sunil Mutreja seems less worried about the competition.
‘The Hindi business dailies available at present are more or less the same. Our product will be a breed apart from others and the content will speak itself’ Sunil Mutreja said.
