Akihiko Kubo becomes President of Ogilvy Mather Japan GK

Tokyo: Ogilvy & Mather Japan GK announced the appointment of Akihiko Kubo as President, effective on September 1, 2012. Kent Wertime, the current president, will take the post of Chairman.

Kubo joined Ogilvy & Mather GK as Executive Vice President in May in 2012. Together with Wertime, he has applied his extensive marketing communications experience, spanning nearly three decades in the industry, to promote the business of Ogilvy & Mather in Japan. As President, Kubo will continue to drive business expansion by leveraging the considerable resources of the Ogilvy & Mather Group around the world.

Wertime will continue to be based in Tokyo and focus on the growth of the Ogilvy & Mather Japan Group as Chairman and as COO of Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific.
