New Delhi:Not only has the show made its mark but so has the book! Based on the popular food show Highway on my Plate on NDTV Good Times, written by Rocky Singh and Mayur Sharma, ‘Highway On My Plate: The Indian Guide To Roadside Eating’ has been honoured at the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards as the Best Celebrity Cook Book.

Founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau, the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards honour the best in the culinary world. The objectives of the Gourmand Awards are to reward and honour those who “cook with words”. It is a platform to help readers find the best out of the 26,000 food and wine books produced every year and to help publishers with international rights to translate and distribute food and wine books.

On winning the award Rocky and Mayur said, “Food runs in our blood! We eat, sleep and think food and it’s great to see our love for food win recognition at such a prestigious platform. We had a great time shooting for the show Highway on my plate and hence decided to pen down our experiences through this book.”

The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards aim to create an opportunity to access the major markets in English, Chinese, German, Spanish or French for books originated in other languages. The winners in each language are announced in November, and compete for the Best in the World, announced in April of the following year at a gala dinner.
