The king of romantic ballads, Singer Mohit Chauhan, was in the Radio Mirchi studio today to promote his debut solo album Fitoor. Mohit was heard by Mumbaikars on Mumbai’s No.1 evening show Sunset Samosa with RJ Suren. ‘Fitoor’ comes with acoustic music and is based on life, travel and romance. The album has nine tracks written and composed by the singer himself and a music video has been shot in beautiful Leh.
Mohit Chauhan is a renowned singer, much appreciated for his melodious voice; right since the days of ‘Dooba dooba’ the hit number by the former band ‘Silk Route’ of which he was the lead singer. His recent hit songs include “Masakali” from Delhi-6., “Tune Jo Na Kaha” from New York “Ye dooriyan” from Love Aaj Kal, and most recently, “Pehli Baar Mohabbat Ki Hai” from Kaminey, which is currently topping the charts
Mohit who chatted with RJ Suren about his genre of music and inclination towards slow romantic songs, claimed that he was often told be people that they fell in love after listening to his songs! About his latest album he says that Fitoor is a driving need for something, it could be different things for different people and his personal fitoor is for love.
The talented singer spoke about his debut number “Dooba dooba’ and how he created the song. “I was an MSc student strumming a guitar in the hills of Himachal and “Dooba Dooba” was a tune that was in my head since then.” He came up with the lyrics and tune to the song, during his college days and it got included in the album “Boondein’ later.
Mohit’s talent is not restricted to his singing alone, he is also known within his friend circle to be a great cook “I love cooking, and I love good wholesome spicy food. Mujhe MIRCHI bahut pasand hai”, said Mohit, to which a witty Suren replied “Humein bhi MIRCHI bahut pasand hai!”
