Adlabs posts revenues of Rs 163cr, up by 61%

Adlabs Films Limited (ADLABS), a member of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and the leading entertainment conglomerate in the country, announced its results for the quarter ended December 31st 2008.

Revenues across all divisions of the company logged strong growth in the quarter. Cinema division grew by 139% to Rs ­­­101 crores .Film processing and services division recorded a 54% increase to Rs 37­ crores .The company recorded a net loss of Rs. 5 Crores, primarily on account of expenses related to start-up and stabilization of various businesses.

A comprehensive range of film and video services : Film processing, Digital Intermediate and VFX, Studio and Camera equipment, Film restoration and Digital cinema mastering ,TV content production ,Film distribution ,Cinema exhibition circuit across India, US and Malaysia .

Commenting on the performance, Anil Arjun, Chief Executive Officer said, “We have scaled our businesses and provide a comprehensive range of services to film clients. All business segments enjoy dominant leadership positions. During the quarter, BIG Cinemas was honored “International Exhibitor of the Year“ at CineAsia, Macau and our distribution division had a record-breaking successful release in Ghajini in the international markets”.

BIG 92.7 FM has a network of 44 stations and has established a premier position in network presence and listenership in key cities such as Mumbai and Bangalore.

In order to unlock the potential of FM radio business, it has been proposed to demerge the FM Radio business with effect from April 1, 2008; and at a meeting of the Equity shareholders of Adlabs Films Ltd. held on January 22nd, 2009, the resolution for approving the demerger of FM radio businesses was passed, unanimously.

For the quarter ended December 31st, 2008, BIG 92.7 FM recorded a total income of Rs. 49 crores.
