100 Female executives from Sony, Yahoo! and AOL collaborate

Digital Diva Summit has proven to bring together the best and the brightest Los Angeles digital industry has to offer. But it’s only for the girls. This Saturday in Santa Monica, CA nearly 100 female executives of all title levels from Disney, Fox, Beyond Interactive, Starcom, Deutsch, Initiative, Mindshare, MTV, AOL, iFilm, Yahoo! and Sony come together for a day of surfing, yoga and collaboration.

Marian Thomas, founder of Digital Diva, wanted to create a place where women in the media community can share experiences, gain insights of the industry and network and just have a good time. “I was tired of the boys’ network and organizations that require high fees and exclusion depending on job title. This group is not exclusionary and anyone can join, from interns and assistants to VPs and Presidents. In fact the more diverse in experience, the better.”

“Being inspired by other women in the business and to be that inspiration for those younger in the industry,” said Sara Bordo, SVP Marketing for SocialVibe.com, “is what Marian’s mission and hard work is all about.”

Five years ago Marian Thomas created this summit for women in the media and digital industries. Past attendees have include: Palisades Media, Universal McCann Erickson, Yahoo!, MTV Digital, Spike TV, Neilson Netratings, Discovery, Fandango, MSN, Playboy.com, Go Fish Media , Sony Pictures Home Video, New Line Cinema, Mindshare, Heavy.com, Entertainment Weekly and Disney.
